As a result of our work, various records have been consulted and a range of information has been accumulated. We hope this information may be useful and interesting for those who might be carrying out family history investigations associated with the Caldwell and Uplawmoor area. Many of the names that crop up in the information here are still found locally. If doing fresh census searches, please note that Caldwell House, the Old Gardens (Ramshead) and the Gamekeeper's Cottage were in Ayrshire (Beith Parish) with all other properties being in the Neilston Parish of Renfrewshire.
